Despite the speculation about the demise of the manual gearbox and the introduction of sophisticated automatic and semi-automatic transmissions, around three quarters of the 2.63 million new cars purchased in 2015 were manual.  There’s no doubt that manual gearboxes are here for the foreseeable future, which means problem transmissions will still need to be repaired.  Remanufacturing these sophisticated components is a specialised process that demands considerable expertise.
