Crank Grinder/Machinist

We require a crank grinder/machinist to join our team in the crank department.
 
Ideally the successful candidate will have:
  •  previous experience of precision engineering or a basic knowledge of machining (in-house training will be provided);
  • Be competent in measuring in both metric and imperial using a micrometer;
  • Be keen to learn and work well within a team environment;
  • Possess a positive attitude and display the ability to identify solutions to problems.

Engine Remanufacturing Operatives – Production Departments

We are seeking engine remanufacturing operatives to join various production departments who will ideally have previous experience of engineering and machining and/or engine work with a mechanical background, possess a positive attitude and display the ability to identify solutions to problems.  In-house training will be provided for these roles.

Storesperson

Due to our continued expansion, a position has become available within Ivor Searle's Procurement team for an additional Storesperson who has automotive stores or parts experience.
 
Key responsibilities:
  • Work within a team providing a high level of parts service to the production departments;
  • Plan and arrange work for the production staff;
  • Pick and load parts;
  • Order parts from a number of suppliers to maintain stock levels;
  • Carry out purchase order processing using our Sage 200 system;
  • Receive goods in, check against delivery notes and enter into stock;
  • Be involved in regular spot checks on various product stock levels and the annual stock count;
  • Carry out various administration duties;
  • Help with daily dispatch of finished items;
  • This role requires manual handling, lifting and moving products up to 23kg in weight;
  • Hours of work for this position are 07:30 to 16:30 Monday to Thursday, 07:30 to 13:30 Friday (40 hour working week).
 
Ideally, the successful candidate will:
  • Possess automotive stores or parts experience;
  • Have excellent communication, organisational and customer service skills;
  • Possess basic numeracy and literacy skills;
  • Maintain a positive attitude and display the ability to identify solutions to problems;
  • Be IT literate with experience in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).  Previous experience of Sage 200 would be beneficial although not essential as in-house training will be provided.

Telephone Sales Co-ordinator – 12 month fixed contract for maternity cover

Key responsibilities will be to:
  • answer phone, fax and email enquiries promptly and professionally;
  • accurately quote price and availability of engines, turbochargers, gearboxes and cylinder heads;
  • carry out sales order processing using our Sage 200 system;
  • raise final customer invoices;
  • liaise with the returns department to arrange delivery of sold items;
  • carry out various administration duties.
 
Ideally the successful candidate will:
  • have automotive parts or service environment experience;
  • have excellent communication and customer service skills;
  • possess a positive attitude and display the ability to identify solutions to problems;
  • have experience of using Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) or Sage 200, although not essential as full in-house training will be provided.
 
Salary dependent on experience.

Hours of work will be from 08:30 to 17:30 with 20 minutes morning break and 30 minutes lunch break.

Engine Remanufacturing Operative - Engine Assembly

We require an engine assembler to join our existing team at Ivor Searle's factory in Soham, Cambridgeshire.

The successful candidate will be required to assemble 1, 2 or 4 petrol or diesel engines simultaneously, to a rigorous specification.
 
Ideally the successful candidate will have previous experience of engineering; machining and/or engine work; possess a positive attitude and display the ability to identify solutions to problems. 

In-house training will also be provided. Onsite car parking is available.
